History
At the beginning of 1993, Jack van Gelder returned from a holiday with the idea of starting his own menswear brand. He got some friends excited and after a few weeks of brainstorming the plan became reality and Fellows was born.
From the very first moment, for Fellows' own styling department ensured that the brand got its own face and it soon became apparent that there was room on the Dutch market for a casual menswear brand. A brand that could deliver a total package at affordable prices.
The shirts, sweatshirts, rugby shirts, t-shirts, polo shirts, sweaters, trousers, Bermuda shorts and jackets can be perfectly combined with each other. Every season there are several themes in the collection. In 2004 for Fellows celebrated its tenth anniversary with two brand new showrooms and a spectacular party in Amstelveen. Under the eyes of fellow Fellows Mart Smeets, Rene Froger, Huub Stapel, Pieter van den Hoogenband, Guus Meeuwis and Louis van Gaal, for Fellows closed its first ten years of existence in style…. and then start again in the same style on another ten fantastic years. After the departure of Jack van Gelder, it was obvious to look for an ambassador who was cut from the same cloth.
Toine van Peperstraten, Jack's Studio Sport colleague, was willing to take over. Together with Toine, the own Fellows Magazine was designed and the contact between Fellows and various Dutch celebrities continued. Huub Stapel, Frits Sissing, Wilbert Gieske and Bert Kuizenga, among others, still like to come and visit. But Fellows went further. And how!. Fellows United was launched together with one of the largest sports marketing agencies in the Netherlands.
Five of the Netherlands' most remarkable football internationals became the face of Fellows. Fellow United; Martijn Reuser, Rob Witschge and Richard Witschge, Arthur Numan and Regi Blinker. The illustrious company has been the figurehead of Fellows United for several seasons. The cover of the magazine adorns the 5 heroes during the photo shoot every season and of course there is more. Fellows United clothing is currently for sale at approximately 350 menswear stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, England and Canada. For a relatively young brand, growth has been rapid, but everything is under control. No crazy jumps, no haughty behavior, just keep acting normal as Fellows amongst each other. United. Fellow United!
